VMAs 2024 winners list: Taylor Swift, Eminem, Ariana Grande compete for video of the year

From political declarations to pop stardom, Taylor Swift is hittin' all her marks.

"The Tortured Poets Department" singer, who made waves last night with her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, leads the nominations at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift, who topped with the most VMA nominations last year, racked up nearly a dozen nods. Among her night-leading 10 nominations, Swift is looking to extend her record-breaking streak for Video of the Year to become the only artist to three-peat and win five times overall in the major category.

Swift's "Fortnight" collaborator Post Malone follows close behind with nine nominations. Meanwhile, pop powerhouse Ariana Grande and rap icon Eminem are tied with six nods, while VMAs host Megan Thee Stallion and R&B songstress SZA both scored five nominations.

The star-studded awards ceremony, which airs live from New York’s UBS Arena, is also primed for pop culture history. Chart-toppers including Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Teddy Swims and Shaboozey are among the 29 first-time nominees.
